I know, I know it has been a very long time since I've posted something and since that is the case, I've decided to just put a bunch of things that have happened in one post.
- The draft may not have been sexy, but Jared Odrick will be a great to clog up the middle and we have a slew of linebackers now, one of our weaknesses last season. Tim Dobbins the guy that nobody knew who everyone thought was a throw in for our draft pick swap, actually is challenging Crowder for his starting position.
-Zach Thomas' retirement was something that I felt should have gotten more media attention, I mean the guy will always be remembered as one of the greatest Dolphins ever. Put this little tidbit into consideration: he has more tackles than any linebacker in the Hall of Fame. Needless to say, I believe he should be in the Hall of Fame.
-Apparently word out of Dolphins' OTAs is that Georgia Safety Reshad Jones is really turning heads. This would be great if it translates on Sundays because our FS position right now is pretty bare with unproven talent such as Chris Clemons and Tyrone Culver. A good healthy competition between the three hopefully should bring the best out in them.
-A lot has been made about Brandon Marshall's hip. I think its just the media trying to draw negative publicity to a superstar reciever trying to turn over a new leaf. He has said time and time again that he is doing fine and is ahead of schedule. We will see when training camp begins and ultimately when the season begins, but I'm not that concerned.
-Stephen Ross made some very bold comments a few weeks back stating, "I think in February, we will be playing in the Super Bowl." He goes on to say, "I'm sure that I’m hoping, as is everyone else, that he goes down as the greatest quarterback in Miami Dolphins history –- and you know what that will mean." I personally have no problem with the Super Bowl comment because that is a good way to pump up your team and that is everyone's goal at the beginning of the season. Seeing as that we are not the Jets and a bunch of loudmouths, I think it's cool that our owner does some talking. However, the Henne-Marino comment I just don't like. I mean I get it, give Henne some confidence heading into his first year as a starter, but comparing him to one of the greatest QBs ever...not so fast there buddy.
